End of profile

What a LinkedIn resume builder is. A tool that reads your LinkedIn profile and lays it out as a resume you can edit, so you don’t retype your roles, dates and education. It’s also called a LinkedIn resume creator, or a LinkedIn to resume converter.

  • What Presr reads: about, experience, education, skills, projects, licenses and certifications, honors, languages and the rest, as you scroll to each one.
  • What you get: an editable resume in any of 11 templates, downloaded as a PDF or Word file, or saved as a .presr backup.
  • What it costs: your own profile works on every plan. The free plan has every template and 1 download, with no account or card.
  • What it never does: scroll, type or submit anything on LinkedIn. Reading your profile uses no AI, and your resumes stay in your browser.

How it works

  1. Open your profile

Open your LinkedIn profile in Chrome, open Presr in the side panel, and press Sync this profile.

  2. Scroll it

Presr reads each section as it comes into view: experience, education, skills, projects, certifications and the rest. It never scrolls or types for you.

  3. Build and download

Press Build resume. Pick a template, edit anything, and download a PDF or Word file.

Other ways to do it, LinkedIn’s Save to PDF among them, are in How to turn your LinkedIn profile into a resume. To fit the resume to a job afterwards, see how to tailor your resume to a job description, and to carry it back onto LinkedIn, LinkedIn profile optimization.

How to download your resume from LinkedIn

LinkedIn’s own option is Save to PDF: on a computer, open your profile, click More under your name and choose Save to PDF. It downloads your profile in LinkedIn’s layout, every section in LinkedIn’s order, and you can’t change the design or the wording.

To download a resume rather than a profile printout, build it from the profile first: read it with Presr, edit what the job needs, pick a template, and download it as a PDF or Word file. The full walk-through, including where LinkedIn keeps resumes you uploaded to applications, is in how to download your resume from LinkedIn.

11 resume templates for your profile

Every sheet below is the same profile, exported. Open one to see it full size, in any color.

  • Classic Times New Roman · single column

Ruled small-caps headings over the plainest possible structure. The format every parser has already seen a million times.

  • Modern Calibri · single column

Your name on the left and your contact details on the right, rule-free headings in navy and tighter leading than Classic. Experience leads the page, education follows it.

  • Technical Calibri · skills first

Your name on the left, contact on the right, and a skills block above the fold, four per line, under shaded category headings. Built for a stack that has to be legible in six seconds.

  • Compact Times New Roman · high density

Classic one step tighter: smaller type, tighter leading, narrower margins. For fifteen years of tenure that has to finish on one page.

  • Executive Garamond · single column

Title-case headings and wide margins in an old-style serif. The summary and the tenure column lead; nothing competes with them.

  • Academic Times New Roman · CV proportions

One-inch margins, education above experience, coursework and honors switched on by default. A CV rather than a resume.

  • Atlas Georgia · banded headings

Shaded heading bands down one column in a screen-legible serif. Structure you can find without reading a word of it.

  • Minimal Calibri · single column

Soft grays, wide margins, one left edge for everything, and a hierarchy carried entirely by weight. No rules, no bands, nothing on the page that is not a word.

  • Sidebar Calibri · two column

Skills, certifications and contact details in a left rail; experience runs at full width beside it. The densest layout here that still parses.

  • Ledger Georgia · two column

Career down the left, a ruled rail of skills and credentials down the right, serif throughout. Reads like a printed page rather than a form.

  • Studio Arial · two column

A warm editorial palette over a structured two-column flow. The one here that is willing to look like it was designed on purpose.

Color is a separate control from layout, so every template above takes any of the eight accents or a hex of your own. Open one and try it. Picking a template starts you on its own color.

Questions about building from LinkedIn

What is a LinkedIn resume builder?

A tool that reads your LinkedIn profile and lays it out as a resume you can edit, so you don’t retype your roles, dates and education. Presr is one, built as a Chrome extension: you scroll your profile, and each section lands in the builder.

How do I convert my LinkedIn profile to a resume?

Open your LinkedIn profile in Chrome, open Presr in the side panel and press Sync this profile. Scroll the profile to the bottom so each section is read, press Build resume, then edit it, pick a template and download a PDF or Word file.

Can I build a resume from my LinkedIn profile for free?

Yes. Building from your own profile works on the free plan, with every template and 1 download, PDF or Word, and no account or card. AI features, such as tailoring the resume to a job description, are part of Plus and Pro.

Is it free?

Yes, to start. The free plan has every template, as many resumes as you like and 1 download, PDF or Word, with no account or card. Plus ($14.99 a month) adds unlimited downloads and AI; Pro ($49 a month) is for recruiters, and anyone writing resumes for other people.

How is this different from LinkedIn’s Save to PDF?

Save to PDF downloads your profile in LinkedIn’s own layout, and you can’t change the design or the wording. Presr turns the same profile into a resume you can edit, reorder and restyle before you download it.

How do I download my resume from LinkedIn?

LinkedIn’s Save to PDF, under More on your profile, downloads the profile in LinkedIn’s layout. For a resume you can edit and send, build it from the profile with Presr and download that as a PDF or Word file.

Will using this get my LinkedIn account restricted?

Presr does not automate the page. It never scrolls, types or submits anything for you, and it makes no requests to LinkedIn of its own. It reads the sections your browser has already drawn because you scrolled to them, and it clicks only when you ask it to: to open the contact card on your own profile, or to expand a job posting’s full description. We can’t speak for LinkedIn, though: it sets its own rules for browser add-ons, so no tool can promise an account won’t be restricted.

Can I build a resume from someone else’s profile?

Your own profile works on every plan. Reading other people’s profiles is part of Pro, for recruiters and anyone writing resumes for other people. Contact details are only ever read from your own profile.

Does my profile get uploaded anywhere?

No. Reading your profile uses no AI, and what Presr reads stays in your browser, as do your resumes. Text leaves your browser only when you use an AI feature or import a resume file; the privacy policy lists exactly what each one sends.

What file formats can I download?

PDF for job portals that want a fixed layout, Word (.docx) when a recruiter asks for something editable, and a .presr file, which is a complete backup of a resume you can import again later.
