LinkedIn profile optimization, from your resume
Your resume is usually newer than your profile. Presr lists what your resume says that your LinkedIn profile doesn’t, AI rewrites each one the way LinkedIn reads best, and Presr opens the right edit form for you to paste it in.
What LinkedIn profile optimization means. Making your profile complete, specific and easy to find: a headline that says what you do, an About section in your own voice, and experience entries that carry the same results your resume does.
- The comparison: Presr reads your own LinkedIn profile as you scroll it, and lists what your resume says that the profile doesn’t. Free on every plan.
- The rewrite: AI Enhance rewrites each one for LinkedIn: longer than a resume bullet, and in the first person. Part of Plus and Pro.
- The edit: Copy & open LinkedIn form copies the text and opens the form it belongs in. You paste it and press Save yourself.
- What Presr never does: type, post or submit anything on LinkedIn. It works only on your own profile.
- LinkedIn’s limits: a headline holds up to 220 characters, and an About section up to 2,600.
Try it: from resume to profile
An example profile whose role says less than the resume does. Press AI Enhance, copy it, and paste it into the form.
- Presr never types or posts on LinkedIn
- Runs only on your own profile
- Every change is one you paste in yourself
In the Chrome extension. AI rewrites on Plus and Pro.

How it works
-
Read your profile
Open your resume in the builder, go to Enhance and press Read your profile. Scroll your LinkedIn profile to the bottom so every section is read.
-
See what’s missing
Presr lists what this resume says that your profile doesn’t, section by section, with the resume’s version beside LinkedIn’s.
-
Paste it in
For each one, press AI Enhance for a version written for LinkedIn, then Copy & open LinkedIn form. Paste it into the form and save.
A LinkedIn profile optimization checklist
Work through it top to bottom; each line is something you can check on your own profile today.
- Headline. Up to 220 characters. Say the role you want, your specialty and one piece of proof, not only your current job title. There are 30 LinkedIn headline examples to start from.
- About. Up to 2,600 characters, in the first person. Only the opening lines show before “see more”, so lead with what you do and for whom, then results, then what you’re looking for.
- Experience. The same titles and dates as your resume, with the results your resume claims written out in full. A recruiter who reads both should find the same career.
- Skills. LinkedIn lets you list up to 100. Add the ones the jobs you want ask for, spelled the way their postings spell them.
- Custom URL. Edit your public profile URL so it reads linkedin.com/in/yourname, and use that on your resume.
- Open to Work. Turn it on if you’re looking, and choose whether all LinkedIn members see it or only recruiters.
- Photo and location. A clear, recent photo, and the city where you want to work: recruiters search by location.
What changes between a resume and a profile
- Voice. A resume drops the “I”; a profile reads better in the first person.
- Length. A resume bullet is one line; a profile entry can tell the whole story of the role.
- Scope. A resume argues for one job; a profile describes your whole career to anyone who looks.
Questions about optimizing your LinkedIn profile
What does LinkedIn profile optimization mean?
Making your LinkedIn profile complete, specific and easy to find: a headline that says what you do, an About section in your own voice, experience entries with real results, and the skills the jobs you want ask for. A well-optimized profile tells the same career as your resume, in more detail.
How do I fully optimize my LinkedIn profile?
Work section by section: a headline with your target role, specialty and one piece of proof (up to 220 characters); an About section in the first person (up to 2,600 characters); experience that matches your resume’s titles, dates and results; the skills your target jobs name; a custom profile URL; and Open to Work if you’re looking.
Can ChatGPT optimize my LinkedIn profile?
It can rewrite text you paste in. You still have to find what’s out of date, carry each rewrite to the right part of your profile, and check that every claim is true. Presr does the finding: it compares your resume with your own profile and lists what’s missing, and its AI Enhance writes each one for LinkedIn.
Can I update my LinkedIn profile from my resume?
Not by uploading it: a resume you attach to job applications doesn’t change your profile’s sections. Presr compares the two, rewrites what your profile is missing for LinkedIn, and opens the right edit form; you paste it in and save.
Does Presr post or type anything on LinkedIn?
No. Presr never types, posts or submits anything on LinkedIn, and it makes no requests to LinkedIn of its own. It reads the sections your browser has already drawn because you scrolled to them, and it opens LinkedIn’s edit form when you ask; you paste and save. LinkedIn sets its own rules for browser add-ons, so no tool can promise an account won’t be restricted.
Is it free?
The comparison is free on every plan, with no account. AI Enhance, which rewrites each change for LinkedIn, is part of Plus ($6.99 a week, $14.99 a month or $34.99 for 3 months) and Pro ($49 a month).
What does Presr send to AI?
Only when you press AI Enhance: the text being rewritten, with your headline, job titles and employers for context. Never your email, phone number or links. Your resumes stay in your browser; the privacy policy lists exactly what each AI feature sends.
